Privacy Policy

What my apps do with your data, which is very little.

I write these apps on my own. None of them have accounts, none of them show ads, and none of them include analytics or advertising libraries from other companies. I don’t sell your data, because I don’t collect it.

This page covers the apps listed below. If an app of mine isn’t listed, it isn’t covered here yet, and you should ask me.

True of all of them

• No account, no sign-in, no email address.
• No third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking libraries.
• Nothing sold, rented, or handed to data brokers.
• Whatever an app stores, it stores on your device, unless that app’s section below says otherwise.

SoundScope

SoundScope shows you the frequencies in the sound around you, so it needs the microphone.

Audio from the microphone is analysed as it arrives, a fraction of a second at a time, and thrown away immediately after it has been drawn on screen. It is never written to a file and never sent anywhere. The app contains no networking code of any kind, so there is nothing in it that could open a connection even by accident.

It does keep your settings: the frequency range, the scale, the colours, the FFT size. Those live on your device and go away when you delete the app.

What Apple sees

Downloads through the App Store and TestFlight go through Apple, not me. If you have turned on sharing with developers in your iOS settings, Apple may show me crash reports and usage counts for my apps. That data reaches me already aggregated, and it is governed by Apple’s privacy policy rather than this one.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
